Peg McGlinch

Peg McGlinch represents clients on a diverse range of public policy matters including tax, international trade, health care, and economic issues.

Her clients have included eBay, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, The White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood, Yahoo!, and Sallie Mae.

Peg served as Legislative Director and Tax and Trade Counsel to U.S. Congressman Richard Neal (D-MA), a senior member of the Ways & Means Committee and current Chairman of the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures. Peg advised Congressman Neal on taxes, international trade, budget, pensions, financial services, Social Security, and human services. Prior to joining Congressman Neal’s office, Peg served as Legislative Counsel to U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), focusing on taxes, trade, budget, appropriations, and financial services. In addition, during her first year in the office, she also handled judiciary, commerce, and foreign policy matters.

Most recently, Peg was Chief of Staff to her hometown congressman, U.S. Rep. Tim Walz (D-MN), president of the House Democratic freshman class. In this post, she managed the office’s political, press, legislative, outreach, and constituent service operations.

Peg managed her first political campaign at the age of 19 and has been heavily involved in campaign politics in every cycle since, in states including Minnesota, New York, and Ohio. She frequently advises clients on grassroots advocacy tactics, public opinion research, and press strategy.

Peg earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was awarded a Kaufman Fellowship and a Heyman Fellowship. She also holds a Master of Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She graduated magna cum laude from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota and was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar.

Before attending graduate school, she served as a Legislative Aide to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) focusing on environment, commerce, and budget issues.
